Richard is an architect who worked for 46 years in various architectural practices, including 26 years in his own business, mostly in Melbourne, but also in London, Penang, Tianjin in PR of China and Tuvalu in Polynesia. As a son of Melbourne, he is fascinated by the diverse complexity of cities and the creative potential of urban design. Richard Peterson is now retired from business, architectural conservation consultancy, community volunteering, activism, and from university teaching, but he remains a registered architect, with a deep commitment to exciting contemporary design as an expression of our present culture, but within the contextual depth of historic buildings and environments.
